David Ripert is an experienced executive with over 10 years of experience in the virtual and augmented reality industry. David has held various leadership roles in a number of companies, including Poplar Studio, Portfolio T, FOV Ventures, BODYSWAPS, Emperia, VR AR Association, Entrepreneur Media, OpenScout, Save the Children UK, and Sadler's Wells.
In 2018, they co-founded and served as the CEO of Poplar Studio, a creative platform that provides award-winning 3D and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences on-demand for marketing, e-commerce, and the Metaverse. In 2020, they became a Non Executive Director for BODYSWAPS, an award-winning B2B SaaS platform leveraging VR & AI to deliver behavioral change at scale. David also served as an Advisor for Emperia, a company that creates immersive digital experiences for premium brands in the Arts & Fashion across the Metaverse.
In 2019, they were appointed President of the UK branch of the VR/AR Association, an international organization designed to foster collaboration between innovative companies and people in the Virtual and Augmented Reality ecosystem. David was also appointed as a Non Executive Director for Save the Children UK, a non-governmental organization that promotes children's rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries and the UK. In 2016, they were appointed as a Non Executive Director for Sadler's Wells, a world leader in contemporary dance.
In 2021, they became an Entrepreneur Leadership Network Contributor for Entrepreneur Media. In 2022, they became a Strategic Advisor for Metaverse at Portfolio T, a Venture Studio for a global technology and digital company. David also became an Advisor for FOV Ventures, a company that invests in early-stage founders building the Metaverse, and a Scout for OpenScout, a platform for VCs, Family Offices & Institutional Investors.
David Ripert obtained an MBA from Loyola Marymount University from 2001 to 2003, majoring in Entrepreneurship. David also obtained a Master's Degree in Management from EDHEC Business School from 1999 to 2002, with a focus on Consulting and International Marketing. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate Degree from Université Paris Dauphine - PSL from 1997 to 1999, majoring in Math Applied to Social Sciences (Deug MASS). Additionally, they are YouTube Certified.
