Pengming Wang is a seasoned engineer and researcher with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently, as a Founding Engineer at Poolside since October 2023, Pengming Wang previously held the position of Senior Research Engineer and Technical Lead at Google DeepMind from January 2019 to September 2023, focusing on applying deep reinforcement learning techniques such as AlphaZero and MuZero to enhance computer systems. Prior roles include Research Engineer at Google DeepMind and Software Engineer at Google, alongside earlier experiences as a Software Engineer Intern at imo.im and a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics. Pengming Wang holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from Universität des Saarlandes.
