Lolla Mitchell has a long and varied work experience. Lolla worked at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for several years, starting in 1982 as a Director of Nursing Operations and Clinical Practice. Lolla continued in this role until at least 2005. In 2004, they became a CALNOC Site Coordinator at CALNOC (Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes). At Western University, they worked in the School of Graduate Nursing from 2009 to 2011.

Lolla Mitchell earned a Masters in Nursing, specializing as a Nurse Practitioner, from Loma Linda University. Lolla completed their studies from 1995 to 1998.
