Daniel Burgess has extensive work experience in the fields of genetics and biotechnology. Daniel is currently the Founder and CEO of Polymer Forge, Inc, a company they established in 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Roche as the Head of Reagent Development, Targeted Sequencing from 2017 to 2018. Before their role at Roche, they served as the Director of Development at Roche Sequencing Solutions, Madison from 2014 to 2017. Daniel also worked at Roche NimbleGen Inc. where they held various positions, including Group Leader, Senior Scientist II, and Senior Scientist, between 2008 and 2014. Their earlier work experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine from 1996 to 2007. In this role, they conducted research on the genetics of neurological disorders and utilized a range of molecular, genetic, cell biology, and bioinformatic methods.
Daniel Burgess received their Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Botany from Ohio University, where they attended from 1985 to 1990. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Ph.D. in Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School, completing their doctoral program from 1990 to 1996.
