Sydney Blackburn has a diverse work experience in the field of Site Reliability Engineering and Software Engineering.

From May 2023 to the present, Sydney has been working as a Site Reliability Engineer at Poll Everywhere.

From 2021 to December 2022, Sydney was a Site Reliability Engineer at Project Ares. In this role, Sydney enhanced system architecture, improved an event-driven framework, and led a feature team in creating functional tests for microservices. Sydney also played a key role in rewriting the CICD infrastructure and open-sourcing a company backend development framework. Additionally,

Sydney created and maintained CLI tools and GUIs for internal teams at Project Ares.

In 2021, Sydney worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at RxSaver, where they managed a fully automated self-service IaC platform using Terraform and Terragrunt. Sydney also collaborated across teams and created documentation to increase visibility into current infrastructure efforts.

From May 2020 to January 2021, Sydney worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at Circadence. Prior to that, from June 2019 to May 2020, Sydney worked as a Software Engineer at Circadence, contributing to the design and development of a dockerized ReactJS web application.

Sydney Blackburn completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University from 2013 to 2017. In addition, they obtained a certification in Advanced Web and Mobile Applications Development from San Diego State University in May 2019.
