Wolfgang is co-founder and CTO of Polariton Technologies. Before founding Polariton, he worked as a research assistant at ETH Zurich, where he received his PhD in January 2019. During his PhD in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, he developed high-speed plasmonics electro-optic modulators at the Institute of Electromagnetic Fields, ETH Zurich. He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with distinction (“mit Auszeichnung”) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Wolfgang has been developing nanotechnology-based solutions for optical communication for more than 6 years, strongly focusing on application-driven R&D. In 2018 he was awarded the BRIDGE Proof-of-Concept fellowship by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse. At Polariton Technologies Wolfgang leads chip-level research and product development to bring the first plasmonic electro-optic modulator to the market.
