Francesca F. S. has been working in the field of silicon photonics since 2016. Francesca F. began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich, followed by a PhD Student role in which they worked on the realization and performance characterization of high-sensitivity electro-optical detectors in the terahertz frequency range. In 2015, they were a Master Thesis Student at Università di Pisa e Laboratorio NEST - Scuola Normale Superiore. Currently, they are a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer at Pointcloud Inc.

Francesca F.S. attended Liceo Scientifico Statale \"L. Da Vinci\" Reggio Calabria from 2004 to 2009, obtaining their High School Diploma. Francesca F. then went on to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Physics at Università di Pisa from 2009 to 2013. Afterwards, Francesca obtained a Master's Degree in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from Università di Pisa between 2014 and 2016. Francesca F. is currently working towards their Doctor of Science in Physics at ETH Zürich, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
