Manuel Cortez has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Manuel is currently working at Plus One Robotics as a Systems Engineer. Prior to this, they interned at Plus One Robotics as a System Integration Engineer. Manuel also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where they were involved in research projects. Manuel gained experience as an NPI Process Engineer at Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation. Manuel's earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Engineer I at Brownsville Public Utilities Board, where they designed power distribution lines and managed projects. Manuel also completed a Manufacturing Engineering Internship at GE, where they implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques and trained personnel.

Manuel Cortez holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Brownsville between 2008 and 2013. In addition to their formal education, Manuel has obtained several certifications. Manuel received a HandlingTool Operation and Programming certification from FANUC America Corporation in June 2021, along with a Robot Operations certification from the same institution. In September 2020, they earned a Python Certificate from HackerRank. Furthermore, Manuel has completed a Lean Manufacturing Basic Training program offered by GE in June 2013, and they hold an Engineer In Training certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, which they obtained in September 2014.
