Mathew Haswell has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Mathew started their career as a Retail Sales Manager at WATCHES UNLIMITED in 2005 and worked in that role for three years. From 2007 to 2008, they were self-employed as a freelance graphic designer.
In 2008, Mathew joined Camelot International Health & Skincare Education as a Business Management and Psychology Lecturer. Mathew worked there until 2009.
From 2009 to 2011, Mathew worked at Mr Price Group, first as an Internal Communication Manager and later as the Head of Communications. Mathew oversaw all company communication and led an in-house communication team. Additionally, they were responsible for developing online learning technologies and platforms as the Head of Digital Learning.
In 2015, Mathew co-founded Yreeka, a business offering digital services for business transformation, where they served as a Co-Founder and Director. Mathew also co-founded Unsilo.me, a product of Yreeka, which aimed to integrate various digital apps and products for business growth.
In 2019, Mathew co-founded teachfolk, a learning management system designed for remote learning. Mathew served as the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, responsible for creating digital courses and offering intuitive brand-aligned platforms.
In 2021, Mathew briefly worked as the Chief Technology Officer at The Answer Series, a company that provides comprehensive study guides to high school learners.
Since 2022, Mathew has worked as the Chief Product Officer at Ignition Group, an Acquisition, Sales, Performance Marketing, and Distribution company. As part of the executive team, they are responsible for the strategy and execution of all product and platform-related activities.
In 2023, Mathew co-founded Plural.fi, a decentralized insurance ecosystem. As the Chief Product Officer and Co-founder, they focus on building and scaling insurance for web3 users and products, with a core proposition of offering insurance to owners of high-value NFTs and portfolios.

In 1999, they completed their matriculation from Northwood School.
From 2004 to 2006, they attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal and obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BsocSci) degree, specializing in Psychology, Organizational psychology, and English.
In 2007, they pursued postgraduate studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and earned a Psych (Hons) Postgraduate Honours degree, focusing on Psychology, Organizational psychology, and Neuropsychology.
In 2009, they received business coaching training from Results Coaching Systems, NeuroLeadership Group.
From 2010 to 2011, they attended the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) and completed the GIBS Leadership and Management and Development Certificate program, which is essentially a one-year Executive MBA with a focus on retail processes.
In 2011, they obtained certificates in Digital Techniques from Keyline Graphics authorized Adobe trainer and intermediate photography from Vega School of Design. The training covered subjects such as digital techniques in Premiere Pro and photographic history.
In 2016, they completed a course in Educational/Instructional Media Design at the University of the Witwatersrand, called "(Get smarter) Course."
