Patrick Huttenhuis has over 27 years of work experience in the engineering and process design field. Patrick is currently employed at Plug Power as a Senior Design Engineer Process. Prior to this, they worked at Frames as a Senior Design Engineer Process, where they gained experience in process design. Before that, Patrick worked at Sweco Nederland as a Senior Process Engineer, where they were involved in various engineering and consultancy projects in the chemical, gas, and food industries. Patrick also worked at Procede Group BV as a Team Leader in the Process Design Group and as a Senior Process Engineer and Project Leader. During this time, they were responsible for process consultancy, development, and design. Patrick also had part-time secondments at Imtech N.V and DSM Pharma Chemicals as a Senior Process Engineer. Patrick started their career at Jacobs Engineering as a Process Engineer, where they gained foundational experience in their field.

Patrick Huttenhuis obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Saxion University of Applied Sciences between 1988 and 1992. Patrick then pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Twente from 1992 to 1995. Subsequently, they enrolled in a part-time Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering at the University of Groningen from 2003 to 2009.
