Karen Veltman has extensive work experience in supply chain and production planning roles. Karen began their career at GE Plastics and worked there for nearly two decades, holding various roles in supply chain including production planning, S&OP, forecasting, and inventory planning.
In 2003, Karen joined Starfire Systems, Inc. as an Operations/Marketing Leader. Karen managed customer service and supply chain operations, handling import/export compliance and administering multimillion dollar contracts, including a $20 million Department of Defense research contract.
Karen then moved on to Cargill/Horizon Milling LLC in 2011, where they served as the Administrative Manager. In this role, they oversaw production planning, inventory management, and site administration, including human resources, purchasing, and environmental/health/safety reporting.
In 2013, Karen joined AMRI (Albany Molecular Research Inc.) as the Senior Manager of Materials Management. Karen was responsible for material flow throughout the site, managed the Direct Sourcing, Import/Export Compliance, Foreign Trade Zone, and Warehousing functions, and monitored revenue and plant absorption against budget/forecast.
At AMRI, Karen also served as the Senior Manager of Supply Chain starting in 2015. Karen led the daily warehouse operations for the largest production facility, supported business transformation processes, and served as the co-DEA Controlled Substance Officer for the Rensselaer site.
Karen's most recent position is with Plug Power, where they have been working since 2017. Karen started as the Senior Production Planner and later transitioned to the role of Lead Production Planner, GenFuel Infrastructure. Karen'sresponsibilities include planning and coordinating production activities, as well as supporting the implementation of new ERP systems.
Overall, Karen Veltman has a diverse background in supply chain management and production planning, along with experience in managing teams, overseeing warehouse operations, and handling import/export compliance.
Karen Veltman holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from Siena College. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Unconscious Bias from LinkedIn in July 2020.
