Alejandro Tortosa

Partner Success Manager at Plug and Play

Alejandro Tortosa has a diverse range of work experience. Alejandro is currently a Partner Success Manager at Plug and Play Tech Center, a role they started in February 2023. Previously, Alejandro worked as a Professor of Innovation at Institut de Formació Contínua IL3 - Universitat de Barcelona (UB) from July 2022. Alejandro was also a Professor at UPF Barcelona School of Management starting from January 2022.

Before transitioning to academia, Alejandro held various roles at RocaSalvatella, starting as a Digital Strategy & Innovation Consultant in January 2018 and progressing to become an International Manager - Digital Business & Innovation. In these roles, they were responsible for executing projects in international markets, developing client relationships, and driving business development in digital business, strategy, and innovation projects. Alejandro successfully executed projects in over 20 countries, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, and throughout the EU.

Prior to RocaSalvatella, Alejandro worked at the Trade Commission of Spain in Bogotá, where they served as an International Trade & Multilateral Organizations Advisor from January 2017 to January 2018, providing advisory and commercial consulting services to Spanish companies in the Colombian market and organizing promotion activities and institutional events.

Additionally, Alejandro served as a Trendspotter volunteer at ohayo in Bogotá from December 2016 to January 2018, where they reported on new urban trends and popular spots in the city.

Earlier in their career, Alejandro worked at PepsiCo as a Raw Materials Buyer from February 2014 to October 2015, where they negotiated and purchased raw materials for snack production in Spain and Portugal, analyzed spending, and developed spending forecast systems. Alejandro also gained experience as a Supply Chain Trainee, responsible for strategic planning of raw materials, supplier management, and collaboration with marketing departments for new product development.

Alejandro's work experience also includes a brief role as a Finance Controller at Condis Supermercats in July to September 2012, and an internship as an Office Intern at La Caixa in July to August 2011.

Alejandro Tortosa has a diverse education history with a focus on business and international studies. In 2008, they began their undergraduate studies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in Administration and Management of Companies. Alejandro completed this degree in 2012.

In 2011, Alejandro had the opportunity to enhance their business knowledge further by studying at KU Leuven. Alejandro enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program, specializing in Business/Managerial Economics. Alejandro successfully completed this program in 2012.

To broaden their skill set and gain expertise in international business, Alejandro pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business at ICEX-CECO from 2015 to 2016. During this program, they focused on International Business, Trade, and Tax Law.

Recently, Alejandro sought to further expand their knowledge in the field of design and user experience. In 2020, they completed a Specialized Program in UX/UI - Interaction Design at UC San Diego.

In addition to their formal education, Alejandro has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they earned a Digital Transformation Specialist Certification from RocaSalvatella and a Blockchain Essentials Certification from Cognitive Class. Alejandro also completed a course in Product Management with Lean, Agile, and System Design Thinking at Boston University.

In 2020, Alejandro pursued further professional development by obtaining certifications in various areas. Alejandro gained expertise in Desarrollo Web para Comercio Electrónico from FUNDAE Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo, learned about Human-Centered Design through a course at UC San Diego, and completed a certification in Gobierno Digital from the Inter-American Development Bank.

To demonstrate their language proficiency, Alejandro obtained a Certificate in Advanced English (C1) from Cambridge Assessment English in 2011.
