Valerie Barroso has extensive experience in human resources, currently serving as Human Resources Director for the City of Ventura since July 2018, after holding the position of Assistant Human Resources Director. Additionally, Valerie is a Personnel Commissioner for the Pleasant Valley School District since December 2021 and previously functioned as the Director of Classified Human Resources for that district from June 2017 to July 2018. Valerie's career in human resources includes a role as Senior Human Resources Analyst for the City of Simi Valley from February 2012 to June 2017. Valerie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University, as well as a Master's Degree in Business Organizational Management/Human Resources Management and a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne.
