Carol Fishman

General Manager at Playwrights Horizons

Carol Fishman (General Manager) began her career as a production stage manager on Broadway and at many major Off-Broadway institutions. She toured with dance and opera companies in the United States and served as a Production Supervisor for numerous Off-Broadway productions including the long-running Blue Man Group: Tubes. For 14 years, she served as Managing Director and Production Manager of Second Stage Theatre where she produced over 70 productions resulting in Tony, OBIE, Drama Desk, Audelco, and Lortel awards. While at Second Stage she oversaw the construction of the organization’s 299-seat theatre in the heart of Times Square designed by Rem Koolhaas. Ms. Fishman is proud to have worked on such shows as the New York premieres of Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses; August Wilson’s Jitney; Stephen Sondheim’s Saturday Night; Kenneth Lonergan’s This Is Our Youth; Lynda Barry’s The Good Times Are Killing Me; Cheryl West’s Jar The Floor and the acclaimed revivals of Edward Albee’s Tiny Alice and Wendy Wasserstein’s Uncommon Women and Others. Ms. Fishman sits on the Board of the Off-Broadway League of Theatres and Producers and serves as a Trustee of the SDC Pension and Health Funds. She has guest lectured at Columbia University, New York University, Brooklyn College, and Fordham University.
