Chris Carsen is Chief Legal Officer at Planview, responsible for managing the legal function globally, including corporate governance, privacy, intellectual property, and litigation. Chris joined Planview in July 2021 and has more than 20 years of technology and privacy law experience. Prior to joining Planview, Chris founded Carsen Law PLLC, providing outside general counsel and technology contracting services for clients across the United States. Previously, Chris was the General Counsel of Corel Corporation, a private-equity-held global B2B and consumer software company, as well as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Mattersight Corporation, a publicly-traded SaaS company.
Before going in-house, Chris spent the first half of her career in law firms in Chicago, including as a partner at Winston & Strawn, where she focused exclusively on IT commercial transactions, ecommerce, and privacy law. She is on the Advisory Board for Tend, a start-up offering a free tracking app for moms that tracks the invisible labor of motherhood, lightening the mental load carried by mothers and giving them a place to quantify the economic value of their work. Chris is a graduate of Cornell Law School and the University of Iowa, with degrees in History and Psychology.
