Jason Zide is a Staff Mechanical Engineer at Planted Solar, having joined the company in January 2024. Prior to this role, Jason Zide worked at SpaceX from July 2017 to December 2023, serving as the Lead Life Support and Thermal Control Engineer, where Jason led a team responsible for the design and delivery of critical systems for the Crew Starship. Jason also held positions as Lead Structures Engineer and Structures Engineer at SpaceX, driving production improvements and overseeing the engineering of the Dragon Crew Capsule. Earlier experience includes an internship at Hyperloop One focused on component design for a test track, and key roles in the USC Racing - Formula SAE Team and within prestigious organizations such as Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Tesla Motors, and Nissan Motor Corporation. Jason Zide holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, obtained in 2016.
