Alyssa Dawson possesses extensive experience in coordinated care and health education, currently serving as a Care Coordinator at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest since August 2019, where responsibilities include coordinating trauma-informed patient follow-up and connecting individuals with community resources. Prior to this role, Alyssa held the position of Patient Navigator at the same organization, facilitating similar support and training staff on care coordination services. Earlier experience includes serving as a Resident Assistant at Thurgood Marshall College, where Alyssa supported historically underrepresented students, and as a tutor and facilitator for language arts at UC San Diego. Additionally, Alyssa demonstrated leadership as a Peer Health Educator and President of Student Health Advocates, overseeing health promotion efforts. Alyssa also gained experience as an intern with Health Career Connection and as a Contemporary Issues Facilitator for OASIS Summer Bridge. Alyssa earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in African American Studies from UC San Diego.
