Derron Simon has a long and varied work experience. Derron began their career in 1994 as an Internet Technology Analyst and Network Administrator at Villanova University School of Law. In 1995, they founded and managed the Internet Commerce Practice at Group Cortex. In 1999, they joined Ecount, Inc. as the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Software Development, where they managed 8 software engineers and 2 quality assurance engineers. In 2005, they joined Planalytics as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, where they were directly responsible for corporate strategy, leadership development, and human capital management. Derron also envisioned and led the execution of a successful transformation of all systems from an on-premises hosted solution to a cloud-based solution in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
Derron Simon completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Fox School of Business at Temple University between 2014 and 2015. Derron obtained their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania between 1990 and 1994. Derron completed their secondary education from Westtown School between 1976 and 1990. Derron also obtained five certifications from Coursera including Neural Networks and Deep Learning (2017), Cryptography I (2017), Programming Mobile Applications for Android Handheld Systems: Part 1 (2015), Computing for Data Analysis (2013), and Gamification (2013).
