Ben Deines AIA is an Associate Principal and Urban Designer at ZGF Architects LLP since August 2014, and currently serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Bainbridge Island. Previous experience includes roles as a Green Building Research Lab Fellow and Teaching Assistant at Portland State University, where Ben also acted as Digital Media Liaison. From January 2006 to December 2012, Ben was the Owner/Contractor at Oxalis Landscapes Inc., specializing in sustainable landscape design and maintenance. Prior work includes serving as Foreman at Craftsman Building LLC in custom residential construction from June 1997 to September 2003. Ben holds a Master of Architecture from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the same institution, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Sociology from the University of Oregon.
