Alain Meier is an experienced professional in the field of identity verification and technology. Currently serving as the Head of Identity at Plaid since January 2022, Alain focuses on developing products to enhance user onboarding experiences. Prior to this role, Alain co-founded and served as CEO of Cognito, which specialized in full stack identity verification and was acquired by Plaid in 2022. Alain also co-founded and held a board position at Bloom Protocol, a project aimed at decentralized identity management and credit scoring using blockchain technology. Earlier experience includes working as a Research Scientist at the Stanford Bitcoin Group, contributing to Bitcoin research and applications, and as a Software Engineer at Aftershock SF, where Alain designed interfaces for one of the first iPhone MMOs. Alain holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a high school diploma from Zurich International School.
