Mary McKenna, MBE, serves as an Expert Advisor to the European Commission, participating as a jury member for innovation funding programs like Horizon Europe since January 2018. As a co-founder of AwakenHub, a burgeoning community for female founders in Ireland, Mary has been actively supporting entrepreneurship among women since 2020. Recognized as Europe's Female Angel Investor of the Year in 2023 by Business Angels Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (BAND), Mary also contributes as an Entrepreneurship Expert with the Entrepreneurship Centre at the University of Oxford and as a mentor with the Imperial Venture Mentoring Service. Additional roles include serving on advisory boards for SXSW and Placecube, holding the position of Non-Executive Director at Mind Of My Own Ltd, and acting as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Catalyst Inc HQ since August 2014. Mary holds a BA (Hons) in Business Economics from Lancaster University.
