Maarten van Dooren has significant work experience in founding and leading companies. In 2000, they founded PixelPool and served as the CEO until the present. Maarten also founded Still in Motion Inc. in 2016 and served as the CEO until 2018. Additionally, they founded Dtail in 2019. Prior to these ventures, they owned and served as the CEO of NoMagazine from 2004 to 2005. Maarten also held the position of Vice-President at the American Society of Architectural Illustrators in 2011. Furthermore, they were the initiator and co-organizer of NK HockeyGolf from 2012 to 2014.

Maarten van Dooren attended Delft University of Technology from 1991 to 1999, where they pursued a degree in Architecture. However, no information is given about whether they completed the degree or not.
