Ping Yu's work experience includes roles at several prominent companies. Currently, Ping Yu serves as the Senior Director of Product Management and Business Operations at Storyloom in Pixelberry Studios. In this role, Ping Yu is responsible for planning, creating, and improving game features, as well as managing live game operations and backoffice functions.
Prior to joining Pixelberry Studios, Ping Yu was the Senior Director of Global Product Marketing at Niantic, Inc., specifically for the popular game Pokémon GO. In this position, Ping Yu directed various operations related to social media management, website administration, community development, integrated campaigns, and event organization. Additionally, Ping Yu provided guidance for paid user acquisition and customer relationship management.
Ping Yu also held the role of Senior Director of Franchise and Product at Activision Blizzard, where responsibilities included developing strategies and managing profit and loss for Blizzard franchises such as Hearthstone, Overwatch, Diablo, and World of Warcraft. Ping Yu also provided thought leadership based on market trends, consumer insights, competition, and regulatory updates to global development teams.
Prior to these roles, Ping Yu served as the Director of Marketing for Xbox China at Microsoft, where responsibilities included overseeing various marketing operations and supporting sustainable business design. At Nokia, Ping Yu held multiple positions, including Head of Product Marketing and GTM for Microsoft Mobile, Director of Product Portfolio Planning for Mobile Phones China, and Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy.
Ping Yu began their career as a Senior Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and as an Associate at Booz & Company.
Ping Yu has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing and Strategic Management from The Wharton School. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Wright State University. Their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software and International Business was earned from East China University of Science and Technology. However, the exact years of attendance for each educational institution are unknown.
