Alex Orlovsky has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Alex started their career as a Software Development Manager at i2 Technologies from 1999 to 2001. Alex then worked as a Principal Consultant/SW Engineer at Fidelity Investments from 2003 to 2005, where they led the development of a major release of a modernization program. After that, they were a Web GUI Architect at Charles River Development from 2005 to 2007, where they designed and implemented two major rearchitectures.
From 2007 to 2008, Alex worked as an Independent Software Consultant at the Broad Institute, where they were responsible for designing and implementing key functional slices for a chembio informatics platform. Alex also worked as an Independent Software Consultant at Nokia from 2008 to 2009, where they were responsible for defining and implementing a NetFlow interface.
From 2009 to 2013, Alex worked as a Sr Software Engineer at Lavastorm Analytics, where they worked on all aspects of a distributed, scalable platform for business data analytics. Alex developed new scheduling algorithms, extended the GUI and its underlying language, maintained C++ code, and designed and implemented data exporters.
Since 2014, Alex has been working as a Principal Software Engineer at Pixability.
Alex Orlovsky attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1973 to 1977. During their time there, they pursued a degree in Aero&Astro, Math, and Russian, and successfully completed their SB degree.
