Haven D. Ley has a diverse and extensive work experience. Haven D. currently holds the position of Managing Director, Program Strategy and Investment at Pivotal Ventures, where they lead a team focused on advancing progress for women and families in the United States through strategic partnerships and investments. Haven D. is responsible for supporting transformational ideas, people, and organizations that drive innovative solutions and strengthen sectors. In 2020, Pivotal Ventures received a $1 billion commitment from Melinda French Gates to expand women's power and influence over the next 10 years.

Prior to their role at Pivotal Ventures, Haven worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Senior Advisor to the Co-Chair, where they provided strategic guidance and support. Haven D. also served as a Senior Program Officer and Program Officer in Agricultural Development, working on initiatives to improve agriculture and food security.

Before joining the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Haven worked at the Millennium Challenge Corporation as a Senior Program Officer, focusing on environmental and social assessment. Haven D. also gained experience at Chemonics International as a Program Manager, working on economic competitiveness and women's development in Mongolia.

Haven's career began in the public sector, where they served as a Legislative Aide to Rep Karen Spilka in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
