Kate Mechler, P.E. has over 16 years of experience in the engineering field. Kate is currently the Deputy Director of Engineering at Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority since April 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Hatch Mott MacDonald as a Senior Project Manager from March 2015 to April 2019. Kate also spent a significant amount of time at ARCADIS as a Project Manager/Senior Buried Infrastructure Engineer from June 2003 to March 2015. During their time at ARCADIS, they were responsible for managing various storm, combined, and sanitary sewer projects across the United States and became a national subject matter expert for Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Studies.
Kate Mechler, P.E. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware from 1999 to 2003. Kate also obtained a Professional Engineer certification from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs in June 2012. Additionally, Kate has pursued further certifications including Certified Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) from CSI and Pipeline Assessment & Certification Program (PACP) from the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO).
