Katie S.

Director, Learning & Community Engagement at Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra

Katie S. has extensive work experience in the arts and nonprofit sectors. Katie most recently worked at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as the Director of Learning & Community Engagement since November 2019. Prior to that, they were the Manager of Learning & Community Engagement at the same organization from April 2018 to October 2019. Before joining the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Katie worked at the Manchester Bidwell Corporation as the NCAT Senior Project Manager and Project Manager from October 2014 to March 2018. Katie also held the position of Senior Research Associate at History Works, Inc. from January 2006 to June 2012, and was a Contributing Writer for Carus Publishing, Cricket Magazine Group, and Cobblestone Publishing from October 2005 to June 2007. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant to the Director at the Rocky Ridge Music Center in 2005, and as an Executive Assistant of Artistic Planning at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from September 2004 to May 2005.

Katie S. completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from Saint Olaf College between 2000 and 2004. Katie then went on to earn a Master of Arts Management (MAM) degree from the H. John Heinz III College at Carnegie Mellon University from 2012 to 2014.
