Michael Bertsch is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and athletic communications. Currently serving as Communications Manager for the Pittsburgh Steelers since August 2019, Bertsch previously held the role of Director of Football Communications at the University of Notre Dame from 2006 to 2019. This position involved collaborating with head coach Brian Kelly and overseeing media relations, social media strategies, and brand enhancement for the Fighting Irish football program. Earlier experience includes roles at Wake Forest University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Marshall University, where Bertsch developed media guides, coordinated press releases, and served as a primary media contact for various sports teams. Bertsch earned a Master of Arts in Athletic Administration from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Walsh University.
