Diego Sabato has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Diego started their career in 2004 as a Plants Certification Engineer at Seucer, where they conducted tests and certifications for residential elevators. In 2005, they worked as an Engineer R&D at Oppent S.p.A., designing automatic machinery for their R&D division. From 2006 to 2012, they worked at Politecnico di Milano as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical department. In 2013, Sabato joined Pirelli as a Tyre Testing Engineer, where they developed innovative testing methodologies and devices. Diego then progressed to become the Head of Indoor Testing Engineering, responsible for vehicle dynamics and NVH indoor testing management. In 2020, they became the Head of Indoor & Outdoor Testing Engineering, and in 2023, they took on the role of Head of Testing Engineering - Testing Methods for Innovation - Proving Ground Management at Pirelli. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in testing engineering, research, and development.
Diego Sabato holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Systems Engineering, obtained from Politecnico di Milano. Diego completed their doctoral studies from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, specializing in Vehicle Engineering, from 1998 to 2004. Diego completed their high school education at F. Severi, receiving a Scientific high school degree in 1998. Additionally, they obtained certification from the Ordine degli Ingegneri della provincia di Milano in 2012.
