Markandey Upadhyay has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Markandey currently holds the position of Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited since June 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of BIU, Piramal Retail Finance from May 2021 to May 2023.

Markandey started their career at GE Capital as a Business Analyst from 2001 to 2003.

Markandey Upadhyay attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, although the specific degree or field of study is not provided. In 2011, they briefly studied at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Markandey then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Birmingham.
