Karel Roots is a software engineer with experience working at Pipedrive and Nortal. Karel started their career at Nortal as a Junior Software Engineer in June 2019 and worked in that role until May 2020. Karel then became a Software Engineer, Team Lead in May 2020 and led a small development team, with responsibilities such as conducting regular 1-on-1s, organizing team events, and handling technical analysis and business demos. In March 2021, Karel joined Pipedrive as a Full Stack Engineer & Mission Lead, where they developed and maintained product platform services and led product and technical engineering development missions within small to medium-sized teams. In January 2023, they transitioned to the role of a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, continuing their work on the product platform services using React and TypeScript.

Karel Roots completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Tartu from 2017 to 2020. Following this, they pursued two Master's degrees in Computer Software Engineering, one from the University of Tartu and another from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, both from 2020 to 2022.
