Jie (Andy) Chen has a diverse work experience starting with their role as an Interviewer at Friends of the National WWII Memorial from August 2012 to August 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Teaching Assistant/Residential Advisor at the UPenn Summer Academy of Applied Science and Technology. Jie (Andy) then became a Computer Science Teaching Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania from December 2014 to December 2017. Chen gained further experience as a Software Engineering Intern at TripleLift in 2015 and a Software Engineering Intern at Apple in 2016. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Facebook. Chen then joined Instagram in April 2018 as a Software Engineer, where they stayed until September 2020. Most recently, they joined Pinwheel as a Founding Engineer in September 2020 and was subsequently promoted to Engineering Manager in June 2022.
Jie (Andy) Chen pursued their education in a progressive manner, starting with their foundation at West Springfield High School from 2009 to 2013, where they completed their High School education. Building upon this, they then attended the University of Pennsylvania from 2013 to 2017. During their time at the university, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) degree in Computer Science. Andy's dedication to furthering their knowledge in their chosen field led him to continue their studies at the same institution and they subsequently earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania from 2015 to 2017.
