Steve Levitas is an accomplished legal and regulatory expert with extensive experience in the environmental and renewable energy sectors. Currently serving as Senior Vice President for Regulatory and Government Affairs at Pine Gate Renewables since September 2019, Steve leads efforts in policy, regulatory matters, and the expansion of offtake opportunities for solar generation resources. Prior roles include Senior Counsel and Partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, where negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) agreements was prominent, and Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs and Strategy at Cypress Creek Renewables. Steve's career highlights include government service as Deputy Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Environment, Health and Natural Resources and founding a regional office for the Environmental Defense Fund. Steve holds a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
