Michael Endo serves as the Artistic Director at Pilchuck Glass School since May 2023 and co-director/founder at High Desert Observatory since January 2019. With a self-employed career beginning in January 1997, Michael has worked as an artist, arts educator, and curator. Ongoing roles include curatorial consultant and instructor at Bullseye Glass Co. since August 2009 and artistic/technical advisor at Yucca Valley Material Lab until December 2022. Michael's teaching experience spans multiple institutions, including adjunct faculty at Oregon College of Art and Craft from September 2012 to December 2018 and instructor at Portland Community College from November 2010 to June 2016, focusing on drawing and glass casting. Earlier in the career, roles included assistant to Beverly Fishman and instructor at Cranbrook Academy of Art and Paint Creek Center for the Arts. Michael holds an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BA in Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, and Art History from Portland State University.
