James T Guthrie has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. James T currently works at Pikselin as a Technical Director, where they have worked on projects such as vote.nz, elections.nz, and ecan.nz. Prior to this, they were a Senior Developer at the same company.
In 2005, Guthrie founded and served as the Editor of The Wellingtonista, a platform documenting Wellington's cultural scene.
In 2019, Guthrie worked as an Author at Scholastic, with their middle-grade novel, Bullseye Bella, being published and achieving recognition in various awards.
Before these roles, Guthrie held positions as a Senior Developer at Shift Ltd, a Web Developer at MODICA Group Ltd, and a Web Developer at Morse Media Limited. James T also served as an Information Enthusiast at MetService and as a New Zealand Music DJ at Radio Active 89FM.
James T Guthrie completed their BA (Hons) in History and BA in English at the University of Canterbury, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Afterward, they pursued a Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) in Library and Information Science at Victoria University of Wellington from 1996 to 1998.
