Helfried Sorger is a seasoned professional in the automotive and engineering sectors, currently serving as CTO Powertrain at Pierer Industrie AG since May 2024. Additionally, Helfried holds the position of Deputy Chairman at eFuel Alliance Österreich and serves as a supervisory board member at Pankl AG, both since January 2022. Previously, Helfried was Managing Director of Research and Development at KTM AG and CTO Powertrain at PIERER Mobility until April 2024. With a career at AVL spanning from 2002 to May 2021 in various roles, including Executive Chief Engineer and Head of Design, Helfried also contributed as a project manager and designer in earlier roles. Educated at Technische Universität Graz, Helfried earned a Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering and Economy, followed by a Dr. techn. in the same field.
