Mario Prats is a seasoned professional in robotics and artificial intelligence, currently serving as a Staff Robotics Scientist at PickNik Robotics since August 2023. Previously, Mario held the role of Roboticist at Everyday Robots from December 2013 to April 2023 and at X, the moonshot factory from December 2013 to November 2021. Prior to these positions, Mario worked as a Software Engineer at Suitable Technologies and as a Research Engineer at Willow Garage. Mario's extensive research background includes a tenure at Universitat Jaume I de Castellón, where a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Robotics was obtained from 1998 to 2003. Additionally, Mario has completed multiple research stays at prominent institutions such as Sungkyunkwan University and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Expertise encompasses autonomous robotic manipulation, service robotics, and underwater autonomous intervention.
