Ekta Kapoor has worked in various roles in the engineering and architecture fields. From 2022 to present, they have been employed as a Computational Engineer at PHYSEE Technologies. From 2019 to 2022, they were a Façade Engineer at De Groot en Visser BV. From 2015 to 2019, they were a Green Building Analyst at Environmental Design Solutions. Prior to that, they held an Internship at Environmental Design Solutions from 2015 to 2014 and an Internship at Ochre Architects - India from 2014 to 2015.

Ekta Kapoor completed a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from MBS School of Planning and Architecture between 2010 and 2015. Ekta then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Architectural and Building Sciences/Technology at Delft University of Technology between 2017 and 2019. In November 2020, they obtained a VCA-certificaat from Stichting Samenwerken Voor Veiligheid (SSVV), and in June 2021, they obtained a 'VMRG Kwaliteitseisen en adviezen' certification from VMRG.
