Dave Ong has worked in a variety of international markets since 2007. In 2020, they were appointed as Head of International Markets at PHUTURE Foods, where they are responsible for formulating vision, purpose and strategic planning, driving business strategy and operational excellence in overseas expansion covering foodservice, manufacturing and retail, and investor relations and stakeholder management. Dave also serves as International Business Director at Trung Nguyen International, leading all international business units, comprising of country managers and global marketing in subsidiaries and operations across USA, China, Russia, Singapore and Australia, as well as online and offline presence across modern trade, general trade, cvs and eCommerce stores in partnership with retailers and wholesalers. From 2013 to 2020, Dave was the Head of International Markets at Patons Macadamia, driving the exports business across brands, categories and markets, directly and in partnership with retailers, wholesalers & agents in Travel Retail, modern trade and e-commerce. Dave also formulated strategy, supervised operations, implemented route-to-market, drove business development, established sales & marketing budget, customer business plans and consumer activation calendars, and tripled market footprint and doubled sales in select key accounts. Prior to this, they were Regional Director, Asia-Pacific at Illixis Wines, where they braved uncharted waters pivoting into Consumer Goods setting up APAC wine export operations from Australia, conceptualized brand profiles & market positioning, and drove category management, advertising & promotions and consumer research.
Dave Ong holds a Master of Science degree from Stanford University in Civil & Environmental Engineering, with additional 2nd year MBA courses. Dave also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Management, graduating with Highest Distinction.
