Chad Mowbray has a wealth of work experience in various roles. From 2002-2018, they served in the US Army as an Arabic Linguist. From 2018-2020, they worked at the University of Chicago as an Academic Writing TA and an Arabic Language TA. In 2020, they joined Code Platoon as a Web Development Instructor and a Part-time Web Development Instructor, where they taught an intensive, career-oriented, full-stack web development course and developed a new cybersecurity module from scratch. Chad also served as a Digital Pedagogy Fellow at the University of Chicago in 2020, where they taught professors how to integrate technology into their pedagogical practices and used sentiment analysis, topic modeling, and matplotlib to transform data into usable information. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, where they managed CI/CD pipelines, researched and implemented an authentication solution, and wrote configuration and deployment scripts in Python and Bash. In 2021, they joined SemanticBits as a Data Engineer, and in 2022, they joined Phrase Health as a Data Engineer.
Chad Mowbray has a diverse educational background. Chad obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA from the University of Chicago in 2010, majoring in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. Chad then went on to obtain a Master of Arts from Princeton University in 2015, majoring in Near and Middle Eastern Studies. Chad started a PhD at the University of Chicago in 2016, in Arabic Literature and Digital Humanities, but withdrew in 2021. In addition, Chad Mowbray has obtained several certifications, including Advanced SQL, AWS Academy Accredited Educator, REST API, Python, Javascript, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from HackerRank and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021 and 2022.
