Nihal Fonseka serves as a Member of the Governing Board and Monetary Policy Board at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka since June 2022, and has held various executive roles such as Chairman of the Board at Phoenix Industries and Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee at Phoenix Ventures Ltd. Additionally, Nihal Fonseka has been a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Brandix Lanka (Pvt) Ltd since July 2013, and a Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Board Audit Committee at John Keells Holdings until June 2024. Previous experiences include an External Advisor position at McKinsey & Company and service as President of the Sri Lanka National Advisory Council for The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment until March 2021. Nihal Fonseka's educational background includes a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Colombo and fellowships in Banking and Finance, and Finance and Investments.
