Somayeh Bakhtiari is an accomplished bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience in genomic data analysis and algorithm development. Currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Consultant at Phoenix Children's Hospital since April 2016, Somayeh has led the development of next-generation sequencing (NGS) pipelines and performed in-depth variant analyses on numerous genomic samples associated with neurological disorders. Previous roles include serving as a Senior Computational Biologist at Xilis and a Computational Scientist at Guardant Health, where Somayeh enhanced variant calling pipelines and analyzed cfDNA data. Somayeh also has experience as a Machine Learning Algorithm Designer at Complete Genomics Inc., an intern at Sony Electronics focusing on computer vision, and a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Educational background includes a PhD in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Sharif University of Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Hardware from Isfahan University of Technology.
