Nina Matkava is a Law Clerk at Vernis & Bowling, currently studying for the Bar Exam. Nina is also a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Appalachian School of Law, where Nina served as a graduate teaching assistant and ambassador, and contributed as a teaching assistant for both Professional Responsibility Law and Criminal Law classes. Previous legal experience includes roles as a Summer Associate at MartinWren, P.C., a legal extern at Charlottesville General District Court, and a legal intern at Commonwealth Attorneys Office. Additionally, Nina has served as a board member for African Disease Control and Protection and held a legislative internship at the Virginia General Assembly. Educational background includes political science studies at Bridgewater College and Piedmont Virginia Community College, where Nina earned an Associate's degree in Political Science and Government.
