Heshan Wanigasooriya has been working in the software development industry since 2007. Heshan started as a Trainee Software Engineer at WaveNET International, then moved to an Open Source Developer and Contributor at the Drupal Project. In 2009, they returned to WaveNET International as a Software Engineer. In 2012, they joined Drupal Connect as a Software Developer, leading a small team of developers to design, build and maintain scalable web based applications. Finally, in 2018, they became a Senior Developer at Phase2.

Heshan Wanigasooriya attended the University of Moratuwa from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to this, they attended Richmond College Galle Sri Lanka from 1996 to 2004, where they completed their High School studies in Physics. Heshan also holds an Acquia Certified Backend Developer certification, which they obtained in May 2018.
