Matthew Russell is currently serving as Senior Manager of Account Management for Discovery, Preclinical & CMC at Pharmaron since May 2023. Previously, from April 2016 to December 2022, Matthew held the position of Principal Scientist at Axcella, where responsibilities included leading research on clinical programs related to NASH, OHE, and Long-COVID, as well as managing projects and external collaborations. Prior roles include Senior Scientist at Axcella and Bioprocess Development Intern at DuPont Nutrition & Health, where Matthew was involved in developing soft cheese cultures. Matthew also has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant at Cornell University, overseeing multiple undergraduate assistants while teaching engineering courses. Matthew earned a Ph.D. and M.Eng. in Biological and Environmental Engineering, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering from Cornell University.
