Casey Olives has a long and varied work experience. In 2005, they began their career as a Biostatistics Doctoral Student at Harvard School of Public Health. In 2010, they moved to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation as a Post-Graduate Fellow, where they developed methodology to correct for diagnosis bias when estimating risk factor prevalence in the United States. Casey then moved to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine as a Statistical Consultant in 2012. In the same year, they also began as Lead Statistician for MESA Air Project and Air Pollution Health Effects Research Group at the University of Washington. In 2015, they became a Data Science Manager at The Climate Corporation and then moved to Premise Data as a Senior Data Scientist in 2017. In 2018, they were promoted to Senior Director of Research and Data Science and then Head of Data Science at Convoy Inc. In 2021, they joined Twitter as the Director of Data Science. In addition, they co-founded Petriage in 2014 and currently serves as a member of the company's Board of Directors and as a Data Science Advisor.
Casey Olives received a BA in Mathematics from Carleton College between 2001 and 2005, and a PhD in Biostatistics from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health between 2005 and 2009.
