Mikaela Stanley has a diverse work experience, starting with a Field Technician position at Syngenta in 2009. Mikaela then worked as a Sales Associate at Lowe's Companies, Inc. in 2015, followed by an Administrative Intern at the Iowa Lottery Authority in 2017. In 2016, they were a Promotional Contractor at Marketing Werks and in 2018, they were a Cohort Member at CYstarters with the ISU Pappajohn Center of Entrepreneurship and a Director of Strategic Partnerships at Heuss Printing. That same year, they also participated in the ISU Startup Factory accelerated program to begin their business Woof Rider. In 2019, they held various roles at Pet Parents\u00ae, including Product Manager, Product Development Coordinator, Product and Marketing Coordinator, Sales and Marketing Coordinator, and Sales and Marketing Assistant.

Mikaela Stanley attended Madrid High School from 2008 to 2013, where they earned their High School diploma. Mikaela then attended Iowa State University from 2013 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design and Marketing.
