Max Breakwell has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as an Actionscript Developer at LangExpress in March 2012. Max then worked as a contract worker from May 2012 to July 2013, during which they gained valuable experience. In 2013, Max attended the RocketU Developer Bootcamp as a Junior Web Developer student from August to October. Max later joined FirstJob, Inc. as a Web Developer, where they used D3.js to develop an analytics dashboard and performed data analysis on job data. Max then joined RocketSpace Inc. as a Web Developer Bootcamp Teaching Assistant in January 2014. At Perkville, Max held several positions, starting as a Software Engineer in March 2014. Max contributed to designing and developing new features and building integrations with various services. In December 2018, they became a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for maintaining and improving the application infrastructure and developing ETL pipelines. Currently, Max is the Lead Software Engineer at Perkville, leading the development of their loyalty system software, mentoring new hires, and making decisions on the software's direction and focus.

Max Breakwell attended Hampshire College from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Musicology and Ethnomusicology.
