Niayesh Afshordi is a Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo since September 2009, where research focuses on Cosmology, Astrophysics, and Gravitational Physics, alongside teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Physics and Astronomy. In addition, Afshordi has served as Associate Faculty and Distinguished Research Fellow at the Perimeter Institute since September 2007, furthering research in the same fields. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University from August 2004 to July 2007, concentrating on Astrophysics topics such as Accretion Disks, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, Cosmic Microwave Background, and Galaxy Clusters. Educational credentials include a PhD in Astrophysics from Princeton University (2000-2004) and a BSc in Physics from Sharif University of Technology (1996-1999), following a high school diploma in Mathematics from Allameh Helli School (1992-1996).
