Verena Goodman has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Verena is currently working at Perennial as the VP of Engineering since September 2022. Prior to this, Verena worked at Proofpoint, where they held multiple roles, including Director of Software Engineering from August 2021 to January 2022, Senior Software Engineering Manager from August 2019 to August 2021, and Software Engineering Manager from July 2018 to August 2019. Before joining Proofpoint, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Connected Financial Solutions LLC from March 2018 to July 2018 and also worked as a Full Stack Developer from March 2017 to March 2018. Verena's previous experience includes working at Comverge as a Team Lead and Software Engineer from November 2015 to March 2017, at App Data Room LLC as a Senior Software Architect from March 2014 to November 2015, at JDA Software as a Software Engineer from December 2011 to March 2014, and at Corvisa Services as a Technical Analyst from August 2011 to December 2011. Verena began their career as a Research Programmer at Leibniz-Institut für Pflanzenbiochemie from October 2010 to March 2011, where they developed an algorithm in R to analyze mass spectrometry data for their computer science Bachelor thesis. Verena also gained experience as a Lab Assistant at Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung from March 2009 to September 2009 and at Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology from October 2007 to May 2008.

Verena Goodman began their education in 2004 at The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, where they pursued a Vordiplom (Bachelor) in Biochemistry. Verena then continued their studies at Leipzig University from 2006 to 2009, completing their Diplom (Master's degree) in Biochemistry. Following this, Verena pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Bioinformatics at The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg from 2009 to 2011.
